    Tuesday 26 November, Ariane 5 completed a flawless launch from Europe’s spaceport at the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), placing into orbit two telecommunications satellites: TIBA-1, developed by Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence & Space for the Egyptian government, and GX5, built by Thales Alenia Space for Inmarsat. The launch was the eighth of the year from the CSG, the fourth mission in 2019 for Ariane 5 and the 250th flight in the Ariane series.

Soyuz thus accomplished its 23rd mission from the CSG, its third launch in 2019 and the ninth flight of the year in all from the base.

  9. Ariane 5 mission set to orbit Star One C4 and MSG-4 satellites

    On Wednesday 15 July, Ariane 5 will take off from the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), Europe’s spaceport in Kourou, to place two new satellites into orbit—Star One C4, a telecommunications satellite for South America’s biggest satellite operator, Brazilian private company Embratel Star One, and MSG-4, a weather satellite for EUMETSAT, the European agency dedicated to the monitoring of our weather, climate and environment. This will be the third launch of Ariane 5 this year, and the 80th launch of an Ariane 5 altogether.

The launch was the third this year from the CSG and the first for Vega, marking the vehicle’s 14th straight success since its maiden flight in 2012.
