    20 years ago, the Spot adventure—which has orbited 5 satellites and acquired over 10 million images of our planet—began. 22 February 1986, the launch of Spot 1 marked the beginning of what was to become one of the world’s premier Earth observation programmes and is still a beacon mission for CNES today.
