    The Administrative Board of GSA, the European GNSS1 Agency, met for its 52nd session on Wednesday 21 March at the agency’s headquarters in Prague. On this occasion, Jean-Yves Le Gall, CNES President and French interministerial coordinator for European satellite navigation programmes, was re-elected unanimously as the Board’s chair.

  9. REMOTE TRAIN OPERATION SNCF, THALES, ACTIA TELECOM AND CNES JOIN FORCES WITH RAILENIUM

    French national rail operator SNCF, the Railenium test and research centre, Thales, Actia Telecom and the French space agency CNES are launching the TC-Rail remote train operation project. Scheduled to last 42 months, the project aims to demonstrate the ability for a driver to operate a train remotely while retaining a very high level of safety.

  13. 75th straight success for Ariane 5 Four new Galileo satellites in orbit Europe’s satellite navigation system now a reality

    Thursday 17 November, Ariane 5 completed a flawless launch from Europe’s spaceport at the Guiana Space Centre, orbiting the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th satellites for the European Galileo satellite navigation programme. Ultimately, Galileo will offer much greater precision and reliability than any other satellite navigation system in the world. The flight marked the European launcher’s 75th straight success since 2003.

  14. Soyuz launches two new Galileo satellites from the Guiana Space Centre

    Tuesday 24 May, the Soyuz launcher accomplished its 15th successful flight from the Guiana Space Centre, Europe’s spaceport in Kourou, orbiting the 13th and 14th satellites for the Galileo satellite navigation programme on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Commission. Ultimately, Galileo will offer much greater precision and reliability than any other satellite navigation system.

  16. CNES sets out Galileo challenges to French MEPs

    Jean-Yves Le Gall, CNES President and interministerial coordinator for European satellite navigation programmes, was in Brussels today to detail the challenges facing Galileo to French Members of the European Parliament. Six additional Galileo satellites are set to be launched this year from the Guiana Space Centre, taking the number in orbit to 18 out of the 30 satellites that ultimately will form the full constellation.
