    Ariane 5 ECA will orbit 2 telecommunications satellites on 24 April 2015 :  THOR 7 and Sicral 2. The launch had been postponed because of an anomaly occurred on a fluid connector between the cryogenic upper stage and the launch table during the preparations. Follow the launch live at 21h23 !

  2. Ariane 5 launch on 25 January 2018

    Ariane 5 ECA orbited Al Yah 3 and SES-14, 2 telecommunications satellites from The Guiana Space Centre on Thursday January, 25th. Arianespace - Ariane 5's launch operator - announces that the launcher’s liftoff took place on January 25, 2018 at 23:20 (Paris time). A few seconds after ignition of the upper stage, the second tracking station located in Natal, Brazil, did not acquire the launcher telemetry. This lack of telemetry lasted throughout the rest of powered flight. Subsequently, both satellites were confirmed separated, acquired and they are on orbit. SES-14 and Al Yah 3 are communicating with their respective control centers. Both missions are continuing.

  3. Soyuz successfully orbits CSO-1 from Guiana Space Centre

    Wednesday 19 December, Soyuz accomplished a flawless launch from the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), Europe’s spaceport in Kourou, placing the CSO-1 security and defence Earth-observation satellite into Sun-synchronous orbit for the Ministry of Armed Forces. The launch marked Soyuz’s 20th straight success from the CSG since 2011.

    Six years after the French Space Operations Act (FSOA) came into effect, CNES brought together space stakeholders today to analyse its impacts in light of the latest evolutions in orbital systems and launchers. Drafted on the initiative of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research, the FSOA was adopted on 3 June 2008. Today’s review found that actions since undertaken by CNES have achieved very good results.
